We would have loved to get another Basset Hound, but with Bob's lifting restrictions and my pathetic arm strength, we knew we could not get another 50 pound dog. We have adopted Rosie, a tiny stray Beagle. Her age and history are unknown, but that doesn't matter. She clearly needed a home. She is a little sweetheart. Her relationship with Sam is iffy -- I believe both are alpha and they are not nice to each other over food but otherwise they get along OK. We crate her when she eats. She is fine with TB/TC.
Long on Ears, Short on Legs
My name is Sophie, and I'm a Basset Hound. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

It seems all I ever do here recently is update the three "animal" blogs with sad updates. Our dear Sophie "Licious" passed away at 10:30 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012, She was 13 years old. It is over two months ago as I write this and I miss her so much. She had a good long life -- it is nothing like Rudy's suffering or Ande's untimely passing, but still. No dog could ever live long enough to satisfy me.

We were a catfree house for a while, because Ande from Rodents Beware passed away suddenly in July. A few days ago Teddy/Theo joined the crew. I think I may like him better than either Edna or Ande, even though I still resent beautiful hair.

I sadly report that Edna from Rodents Beware died on 12/26/09, at age 17+. We lived in the same house. We didn't have much of a relationship, but there was never any meanness between us. We cohabitated peacefully, without the need to interact. Read the Gully Brook Press tribute here.
She had beautiful hair. That's one reason we couldn't be close.

I am so very sad, because Rudy from Howling Hound has died. Even during his illness, he was head dog around here, and although I will do my best to take over his responsibilities, I'm not sure I can.

catbloggers not authentic
English translation: Rudy at Howling Hound points to this post by Edna at Rodent's Beware on the inauthenticity of catbloggers.
I threw up this morning.
